Assembly Church, founded by Pastor Joseph Ziba who is also the founder of
Fountain of Victory International Ministries organised Easter Fest Conference
which was held at the Tent of His Meeting at Kudya, Blantyre under the theme
“The Witness of Resurrection”.
The conference
was held in grand style. The atmosphere was charged, the
death and resurrection of Jesus was made afresh and miracles were all over the
place. The 2014 Easter fest was a perfect platform to celebrate Easter. No
wonder, the event left an indelible mark on many who came to attend. It was
packed with every heavenly treasure ranging from the manifested presence of
God, the word of truth and the demonstration of God’s power.
Right from the beginning,
it was evident that God was on a mission to raise, build and empower witnesses
of His resurrection. It all started with a Friday afternoon service where
various activities took place before the Man of God stood to minister.
After
the performances, Pastor Ziba started ministering by preparing the assembly on what
is going to happen during the conference and on how they can benefit fully from
what the Lord will be doing. The man of God shared two significant points on
how one can benefit fully during conferences like these. The first point he
said that there are certain things in God that you don’t wait for them, but
rather you hunt for them, you only receive them because you have made them a
necessity to you. These are the things that you need to contend for not just
fold your hands and say “if the Lord wants, He will do it for me”; Jacob had to
wrestle with the Angel till morning to get his blessing. The second point, he
pointed out that if you believe in God, you will also believe in the man who
carries Him, there are many things that God will not give them directly to you
but rather, He will use His men like. That was enough for the day, the Lord
invaded the auditorium and miracles were happening everywhere.
Come Saturday afternoon,
Pastor Ziba spoke on the basic revelations you need to know when you come to
Christ; the Pastor said that the first basic revelation you need to know when
you come to Christ is that Jesus died for you, this will position you to
benefit alot from what He did on the cross. The phrase “He died for you” simply
means that He died on your behalf in other words, He took your place. Isaiah 53
from verse 1 going downwards talks of what Christ did when He went to the
cross, the bible says that he carried our griefs (that is our sicknesses,
weaknesses, and distresses), sorrows and
pains of punishment. Knowing that did all these for you, you don’t accept
anything less in your life because you know what He did for you. The Man of God
said that the next level of revelation you need to know after the first one is
that you were together with Jesus Christ when He went to cross, died and
resurrected. At this level it is the place where the resurrected life of Jesus
is now at work in you. This was enough as the place was filled with the glory
of the Lord and His Presence. The Man of God declared that there will be no
more torture by the things of darkness even in the subconscious life, things
like spiritual husbands and fierce dreams. There were also miracles everywhere
to testify the resurrection power available; cancer being flashed out, demons
being cast out, tumors disappearing and many miracles
The event reached its
climax on Easter Sunday, the day of resurrection when a Holy Communion service
was conducted. Armed with a higher revelation of the Holy Communion, Pastor
Ziba spoke on what actually happens when you partake the Holy Communion.
Reading from 1 Corinthians 10 v 15 – 16, the Pastor explained that the holy
communion takes you into the participation or fellowship of the divinity as
recorded in verse 16 which says; “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not
the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the
communion of the body of Christ?”, partaking of the cup is the participation of
the blood of Jesus and the bread is the participation of the body of Jesus. The
man of God read also John 6 vs 50-57 which tells us that the body of Jesus is
food indeed and His blood is drink indeed and anyone who partake this shall
live forever, telling us that in the partaking of the Holy Communion, you get
the life of God in you and this makes you get swallowed up in Him. With the
resurrected life in you, this qualifies you to be a Witness of Resurrection. The
pastor said that at the partaking of the Holy Communion every sickness and even
demon has to go and what followed was God backing his word. Tumours disappeared
instantly, bones which were feeble gained strength, those with HIV had the
virus wiped away and barren wombs were restored. A woman who had breast cancer
and her breast was swollen up, saw her breast coming to normal and all the pain
going instantly after partaking of the Holy Communion.
Various activities spiced
up the event like drama, poems, dancing and music performances from Tisa
Khomba, Hastings Chinangwa & the Youth Band, Sunday School Choir,
Illumination Mass Choir and Illumination Praise Team.
